Education, Restaurants, and Otherness

As we've been considering Southern food very broadly in this community and as I continue to work on my book manuscript about Black contributions to American cuisine, so many threads lead back to Indigenous histories and practices. That makes sense, as those original foodways and food knowledge absolutely impacted what came after, whether we recognize it or not. I'm no expert, but in this week's drop, I'm considering that impact through a Native American restaurant that I recently tried in Oklahoma.
